Focus more...

Now that I have had a bit of time to read other posts and comments...I feel better equipped to focus more on the marketing issue. I love the idea of some of us connecting some of our topics for our Collaborative Research. It seems like the concept of Marketing the use of podcast for educators for PD is essential. The hard part will be to gather the data to support this idea. How valid are those on-line surveys? Only the people we "tell" or "ask" to respond will be accounted for....is that valid? What will the barriers for Marketing....I think the $$ to purchase I-pods will be a big one.

Are you asking about validity or marketing?

What are the barriers for marketing--is a great question--what are they and how can we overcome them to make our product useful?

Do the participants need to purchase an iPod? Will they be able to see the information on the computer if they don't have one? How can we make this accessible to a wider audience without the hinderance of money or access to 'better' technology?

YOu may want to take a look at the Duke study posted in CAB conference. They found that most people watched vodcasts on their computer. I thought at first it was an eye thing (small screen hard on the eyes) - but these are young people - freshmen in college, obviously an iPod is not essential nor, according to this study, used as much as we might think.

I agree, most will use their computer to view everything!
